Practical Training in Drug Safety Awareness for Staff Who May Come Into Contact With Drug Users and Discarded Needles and Drug Related Waste
(But will not be responsible for removal)

Who should take this Training?
Any staff that in their roles of employment may come into contact with Drug Users or Drug related waste.

Course Aims: For staff to gain an understanding of the following plus much more!

  • Scale of the problem in the UK.
  • Types of Drugs on the streets and the specific risks to staff members.
  • Risks in dealing with the drug taking community.
  • Personal safety in regards to dealing with suspected drug users.
  • Drug Needles and Drugs Litter, why are they being discarded?
  • First Aid in regards to needle stick injuries
  • Blood Born Infections and the risks they hold.
  • Understanding of the drug needles and drugs litter out in the communities.
  • Discarded Needles and Drugs Litter (Outdoors) advice in the art of reducing the risks in regards to discarded needles and litter in an outdoor setting.
  • Discarded Needles and Drugs Litter (Indoors)  advice in the art of reducing the risks in regards to discarded needles and litter in an indoor setting.
  • Personal Protective Equipment and Personal Hygiene.
  • Informing and Recording measures

In-House training

Cost: £350 (plus vat) that is for a maximum15 staff.
(2 Sessions on the same day are charged at the rate of £600 (plus Vat) cost per person £23 only
(Extra staff on the same course will be charged at the rate of £80 per person)
(Contribution to Travel and Accommodation may be necessary)
